Remember: You carry the strength of ancestors who survived the Middle Passage and built the first Black republic.
There will be nights you miss Liberian food and your mother's voice. Stay connected with family and find African communities abroad.
Create a budget. Find legal part-time work. Remember that investing in your education is investing in your family's future.
Use university resources: tutoring centers, writing labs, and academic advisors. You are adapting, not falling behind.
If you experience racism or hardship, find your people. Connect with other African students. Build a circle of support. Document and report incidents when safe. Protect your peace. You are Liberian — from the land of the free. No comment can diminish that legacy.
